Division: Causation or Correlation?

It’s funny to me that the name we chose to identify sub-organizations within the larger org is DIVISION.
Actually dividing humans from other humans.
The cross-collaboration cards have been stacked against us.

Ideal State: Insight-sharing between functional areas for the health of the business.

Productivity increases.

The costly time-suck of duplication is reduced.

Efficiencies improve.

Cross-functional teams begin moving forward toward the same goals. TOGETHER.

Customer service improves (as does word-of-mouth marketing).

Product issues get ironed out sooner.

Sales increase.

So does the corporate bottom-line.

And ultimately, you stand head and shoulders above competitors in the marketplace.

Current State: Yet very few have systems of across-the-board insight-sharing in place today.Of those dipping their toes in the waters (the outliers - yay them!), most don’t have the support or structures in place to get beyond their own status quo.We simply don’t have replicable skills, processes, or systems in place to consistently share structured insights with other functional areas.Exec teams, Boards, and Functional area leaders aren’t asking for this type of information sharing specifically.We have no enterprise-wide tech that allows for seamless and trustworthy structuring and sharing of data and insights we all believe in.Heck, we can’t even keep our colleagues in the foundational tools we’ve invested millions in already (looking at you Salesforce and literally all the marketing automation platforms).So close yet so. far. away. Eh?Ok, so good news.You Can Do This. You Can Be the Hero. You’re the One Who Can Get Us from Here to There.It won’t be easy. Change never is.
